Hippocampus

The hippocampus is a conglomerate structure in the ventro-caudo-medial aspect of the cerebral hemisphere. It consists of Ammon's horn and the dentate gyrus, and has a cortical laminar structure distinctly different from the the neocortex.
The hippocampal structures are presumed to play a role in memory consolidation.

  • Dentate gyrus
